Texas – Boston College a Game for the Ages by llwesman

3-2. 25 innings.

The longest college baseball game in history started at 7pm eastern last night and didn’t end until after 2am. An absolutely incredible performance from Texas closer Austin Wood, who threw 30 pitches on Friday, bounced back to come in on Saturday and throw 12 consecutive no hit innings, a total of 13 shutout innings. 169 pitches for a total of 199 in two days. He struck out 14 in a performance for record books.

Travis Tucker (2/12) got the game winning hit in the 25th with a runner on third and the infield drawn in.

BC got an outstanding performance in a losing effort from Mike Belfiore, who went 9.2 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts.
